Why not just a spreadsheet?
You can, and a spreadsheet is free. The work is in matching payment rows to orders, splitting order level fees across items and keeping ad fees in the picture. ShopMargin does that matching, and it tells you honestly which rows it could not match instead of hiding them.
Rows that do not match go to a separate Not matched list. Nothing is guessed silently.

Questions
Do my files get uploaded?
No. The page reads the files inside your browser. There is no server that receives them and no analytics on the tool.
Is it accurate?
It is an estimate. It has not yet been tested against real exports, which is why it asks you to confirm columns and lists every unmatched row. More in the FAQ.
